KFF lists Texas among seven states that report covering one or more weight-loss drugs while covering no GLP-1s at all. That distinction catches people out: a weight-loss benefit in the plan documents does not mean semaglutide or tirzepatide is on the formulary. KFF lists Texas among the states covering one or more weight-loss drugs while covering no GLP-1s. Since Wegovy and Zepbound are both GLP-1s, a weight-loss benefit does not get you either of them for obesity.
